Project Description
According to the European growth strategy EU 2020, states should aim to deliver high levels of employment, productivity & social cohesion within the framework of mobility opportunities & VET quality. The reason for submitting this project is the acknowledgment of the contribution of high quality Work-Based Learning to the EU strategic objectives highlighting the win-win situation for learners, employers, VET schools and society at large. Work-based learning (WBL) is a fundamental aspect of vocational training – it is directly linked to the mission of VET to help learners acquire knowledge, skills and competences which are essential in working life.
Our aim is to offer our students a life time chance to advance personally, interculturally and professionally via the possibility to apply their acquired knowledge and skills in their specific study field in a professional, international context. An EU mobility for work-placement and training is an absolute added value for their education and an enrichment of their personality. The students will not only learn to work in a professional environment but they will also be confronted with another culture advancing interculturally and linguistically.
Egaleo is a region of high unemployment, among the young and generally characterized by low financial background population. For this reason, our school has the task and mission to develop enriched learning opportunities not only for our students but also for schools who had never the chance to experience the benefits of mobilities in EU. After implementing several Erasmus+ projects and gaining enough experience we wish to apply the benefits of an international mobility to other schools, one of which participates for the first time in an Erasmus+ project.
Our objective is to offer our consortium learners, which consists of a wide range of Vocational sectors, the opportunity to invest on the benefits of WBL adding the intercultural development aspect by providing them with:
• short term work placements:
2 weeks

More specifically, we wish to offer our consortium learners the following benefits:

- Building of skills and competences required to operate in workplace including communication team work, problem solving, punctuality, multitasking and pro-activity
- More employment choices by familiarising them with the idea of working abroad
- First working experience facilitating entry to the labour market
- Improvement of self-confidence and motivation
- Development of career management skills
- Up to date practical knowledge and competences relevant for the current labour market needs to have equal opportunities with their counterparts by adding to their expertise & new technologies
